LIV ASTA PRIVATE LIMITED · LA-HOST-04 · Version 2.1 · In force from 28 October 2026 · livasta.com/policies/host/identity-verification

This Host Identity Verification (KYC) Policy ("Policy") is issued by LIV ASTA PRIVATE LIMITED (CIN U52291DC2026PTC473382), registered office at Plot 2, District Centre, Shivaji Place, Raja Garden, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi – 110027 ("Livasta", "we", "us"), operator of the Livasta platform at livasta.com and in the Livasta app.

It forms part of, and must be read with, the Livasta Host Agreement (LA-HOST-01), the Livasta Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cancellation, Refund & Guest Protection Policy published on livasta.com. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Host Agreement. If this Policy conflicts with the Host Agreement on a host-specific matter, the Host Agreement prevails.

1. Why we verify

Verification helps keep Guests and Hosts safe, prevents fraud and fake listings, and helps Livasta meet its legal obligations. A Host must be verified before any Listing is published. Verification is done once per person: an approved verification on a Guest account also counts for the Host account, and vice versa.

2. Masked documents only

  • Livasta accepts masked documents only. For Aadhaar, upload the Masked Aadhaar, on which only the last 4 digits of the number are visible. It can be downloaded free from myAadhaar (myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in).
  • If a full Aadhaar number is visible on an upload, Livasta automatically hides all but the last 4 digits before the image is stored. If an older card's QR code contains the full number, the QR code is also hidden in the stored copy.
  • Livasta never asks for Aadhaar biometrics, the Aadhaar OTP or the Virtual ID, and does not use Aadhaar authentication (e-KYC through UIDAI).

3. Documents

Host typeDocuments

3.1 Aadhaar is voluntary — alternatives

Using Aadhaar for verification is voluntary. A Host who does not wish to, or cannot, use Aadhaar can contact Support before starting verification, and Livasta will verify them with another officially valid document, such as a passport, instead. No Host will be refused service only because they choose not to use Aadhaar.

Before a Host submits verification, Livasta shows a notice and asks for consent. For Aadhaar it says:

"Livasta will read your masked Aadhaar (name, date of birth, gender, address, last 4 digits, and the UIDAI-signed QR code where present) only to verify your identity for hosting on Livasta and to prevent fraud. If our own reading is unclear, the image may be read again by a trusted document-reading service provider after the Aadhaar number has been hidden. You may use another valid ID instead. Your full Aadhaar number is never stored. [ ] I consent."

4. How documents are checked

  1. Photos are read automatically on Livasta's own servers (text reading, and for Aadhaar, the UIDAI-signed Secure QR code, whose digital signature is checked against UIDAI's published certificates). If that reading is unclear, the image may be read a second time by a trusted document-reading service provider, which returns only the details needed for the form. An Aadhaar image is sent only after its number has been blacked out, and not at all if the number cannot be located.
  2. The details read are filled into the form. The Host must check them and correct anything wrong; changed values are marked for the reviewer. If a photo cannot be read, the Host types the details.
  3. Automatic checks compare name and date of birth across documents and with the details entered, check that the PAN belongs to the same person, check the passport's check digits and expiry, and flag edited or mismatched documents.
  4. A member of Livasta's verification team reviews every submission, including the selfie and video, and approves or rejects it. Automatic checks support the review; they do not decide it.

5. Selfie and live video

The Host takes a live selfie and records a short video on camera reading: "Hi, I am [full name]. I am completing my KYC verification for LIV ASTA. I confirm that my submitted documents are authentic and belong to me." Uploaded (pre-recorded) videos are not accepted.

6. Outcome and timelines

  • Submissions are normally reviewed within 2–4 business days. The Host is told the result on the Platform and by email/WhatsApp.
  • If rejected, the reason is shown and the Host can resubmit corrected documents.
  • While a submission is under review it cannot be resubmitted.
  • Hosts who have not completed verification receive reminders (shortly after sign-up, then after 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days).

7. Re-verification

Livasta may ask a Host to verify again when a document expires, names or ownership change, suspicious activity is detected, a complaint is received or the law changes.

8. Storage, access and retention

  • Verification files are kept in private, encrypted cloud storage with restricted, role-based access and time-limited links for authorised verification staff. Access is logged.
  • Verification data is kept while the account is active and afterwards for as long as the law requires, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Hosts can request access, correction or deletion at privacy@livasta.com, subject to legal retention requirements.

9. False documents

Submitting forged, altered or someone else's documents is a material breach. Livasta will reject the verification, may suspend or terminate the account and may report the matter to the authorities.
